Wincent Weiss on tour for the first time in North America!

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the PASCH-initiative, the Goethe-Institut invited a rising star of the German music scene to North American schools.

“Da müsste Musik sein! Überall wo du bist”

(There should be music - everywhere you go), Wincent sings on his first single, which lead to a Golden Record Award in 2016. Since then, the 25 year old singer has become more and more popular. In 2017, Wincent’s first tour in Germany, which included 24 concerts, was a big hit. His first album Irgendwas gegen die Stille (Something against silence) and some of his most-liked songs like Feuerwerk (Firework), have been at the top of the charts for a long time. He was awarded Best German Artist by MTV Europe Music Awards in 2017. His success continues through this year. His summer and fall tours sold out in no time. Zehn Jahre Pasch

It is no wonder that fans of German music at our partner schools in North American have already discovered Wincent Weiss as well: His song An Wunder was number 1 of Step into German’s Top Ten for several weeks. This webportal has been developed by the Goethe-Institut for young students to improve their German through music, film and more.

Wincent Weiss started his North American tour in Montreal, where the Goethe-Institut supports three partnerschools through the PASCH program:  Collège international des Marcellines (since 2008), Collège de Rosemont (since 2017) and Cégep du Vieux Montréal (2018).

Wincent and his band then headed towards New Hampshire for a concert at Conval High School in Peterborough (PASCH since 2018), followed by a performance at Stuyvesant High School (PASCH since 2017) in New York. Then, the band flew southwards where they played for PASCH-Schools in Mexico City. Finally, students of Millikan High School in East Long Beach, California welcomed Wincent at their school together with students from Claremont High School (PASCH since 2008).

“Da müsste Musik sein! Überall wo du bist“
There should be music - everywhere you go… and everywhere you learn German, of course.

Willkommen Wincent Weiss!
