Artist Lecture Performance at Goethe-Institut Toronto

Join Us for an Engaging Lecture Performance with Hedda Roman!

As part of the Goethe-Institut Toronto's support of Hedda Roman's residency and exhibition at the Oakville Galleries, we are excited to host a special Lecture Performance event.
This unique event will provide a deeper insight into the artist duo’s creative process and the themes explored in their exhibition.
About the Lecture Performance:

In this engaging lecture performance, which will be followed by a panel discussion, Hedda Roman invites us to reflect on the current state of artificial image generation. The first part of the event will shed light on the basics of AI in theory and practice. This will be followed by an open discussion about the opportunities, challenges, and problems that AI presents for artistic practice.

About the Artist Duo:

Hedda Roman, based in Düsseldorf, consists of Hedda Schattanik and Roman Szczesny. Their work weaves cinematic elements with surreal animation, literature, performance, sculpture, photography, and drawing, resulting in immersive video installations and computer-generated imagery. Their practice aims to push the boundaries of traditional art-making while reflecting on the perceptions, biases, and contradictions that define our existence in the world.
Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to experience the innovative and thought-provoking works of Hedda Roman. We look forward to seeing you there!
