BY TRAIN:

You can take a train from Gelsenkirchen to Düsseldorf every 30 minutes. The journey takes approx. 40-50 minutes. The ICE towards Stuttgart and the regional trains RE2 or RE3 will take you comfortably and easily to Düsseldorf main station. Here you only have to cross the street as the Goethe-Institut Düsseldorf is located at Immermannstraße 65 B, only about 100 m from the main station.
 

BY CAR:

The Goethe-Institut Düsseldorf can be reached from Gelsenkirchen in just under 50 minutes. Depending on the state of traffic, you can choose between three options:

Take the B227 and the A40 and join the A52 in Essen until you reach the northern feeder road "Nördlicher Zubringer/B1" in Düsseldorf.

Or:
Take the A42 until after Oberhausen, where you continue on the A3. At motorway junction 16-Kreuz Breitscheid, keep to the right in the direction of Düsseldorf/Krefeld airport ("Flughafen") and take the A52 until you reach the road "Nördlicher Zubringer/B1" in Düsseldorf.

Or:
Take the A42 to motorway junction 6-Kreuz Duisburg-Nord. Keep right there and follow the signs to the A59 and continue straight on to the B8 to Düsseldorf.

In Düsseldorf, follow the signs to the city centre (Zentrum) or the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof). The Goethe-Institut is located at Immermannstraße 65 B, just opposite the main railway station.
