Guest speaker Elke Schmitter, journalist for Der Spiegel
The European election is getting closer, and many are worried about its outcome. Where is European democracy headed and what role does media play in the election? What can an individual do to support democracy? In which way do German and Finnish media speak about Europe, and what does the EU mean for cultural life in Finland and Germany?
These and other questions will be discussed by journalist
Elke Schmitter, the author and activist
Henriikka Tavi and the chairwoman of The Finnish Critics' Association (SARV), journalist
Maria Säkö.
Moderator:
Kaisa Kaakinen.
