Christine Sun Kim: Edges of Sign Language
Christine Sun Kim will present her new commission Edges of Sign Language in the intimate space of Gallery 31 at Somerset House. Expanding on her practice of drawing with charcoal, she designed and built shaped canvases that represent the limitations of physical space through the lens of American Sign Language. Kim seeks to visualise the tensions between notations, marks, shapes and, most importantly, edges.
Commissioned by Somerset House in collaboration with Goethe-Institut London.
