OPEN CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

“Engaged Scenography” is a project focusing on scenography in the performing arts sector. It aims to establish a platform of exchange, experimentation, creation, and networking between professionals active in the expanded field of scenography. This open call is for participation in workshops focusing on scenography, which will take place in the early summer of 2024 in Athens, Greece. The open call is addressed mainly to local professionals. Deadline for applications: May 31, 2024

ABOUT

“Engaged Scenography” offers an artistic laboratory in Athens exploring recent approaches to scenography. Local and international artists from different disciplines enter an exchange about contemporary practice and theory of scenography. With ecology and identity issues in focus, the project includes workshops, meetings, and field research for professionals, as well as a program of talks and performances that engage the broader public and provoke conversations and reflections on the path to a new world.


GENERAL INFORMATION

For three weeks, from June 17 to July 5, 2024, fourteen acclaimed artists based in France, Germany, and Greece are invited to offer group workshops in Athens, where local professionals can participate. Below, you may find a summary of the ten workshops and details on how to apply.

WHO CAN APPLY

Professionals and artists from different disciplines who are interested in contemporary practice and the theory of scenography are invited to apply for participation in the workshops.

HOW TO APPLY

Applicants are invited to apply for a maximum of three workshops that do not overlap. Moreover, applicants should be available for the entire duration of the workshops and present at the sessions. The application should include the following documents:
● CV (indicate website if available)
● Professional Portfolio (10MB max)
● Motivation Letter (500 words max)

Please submit all these attachments in English and in .pdf form, together with some additional information (such as your contact information and your workshops selection) HERE. Applications must be submitted by Monday, May 31, 2024, by 10:00 a.m.
