Dear reader,

We are pleased to present you with a selection of the activities of the Goethe-Institut Irak in our August newsletter and wish you an interesting lecture.

Teaching and learning German

PASCH - Student trip

On July 28, 12 German learners from the PASCH schools in Iraq set off on a study trip to Germany. There, they will spend three weeks taking part in language courses and cultural activities in Dresden and Pforzheim together with PASCH students from around the world.

The initiative “Schools: Partners for the Future” (PASCH) connects a global network of more than 2,000 PASCH schools with special ties to Germany. The Goethe-Institut supports around 600 PASCH schools in the national education systems in over 100 countries.

Erbil

Al-Mada Reading Club

On August 17 and 31, the Goethe-Institut Irak and al-Mada Reading Club invite you to the regular events of the reading club in Erbil.

The event is a cooperation between the Goethe-Institut Irak and al-Mada Reading Club and takes place at 6 p.m. in the Café Nazdar Hayran in Erbil. The event will be held in Arabic.

Design Academy 2024

Designers can apply to take part in the Design Academy 2024 in Sulaymaniyah until August 8. Together with international trainers, they will work at the interface of music and design during the five-days on-site phase.

Summer campaign

The month of August on our social media channels will be dedicated to the topic of cultural heritage. We will discover it from a variety of perspectives and highlight the relevance of the topic for the work of Goethe-Institut Irak in the areas of language, culture and libraries.
