Academy of Care

The Academy of Care (Aoc) derives from our Program of Care (PoC), established in 2022. In the wake of World Mental Health Day, we are glad to introduce the Academy of Care to you. The Academy of Care is a new train-the-trainer capacity-building program designed to empower individuals through creative forms of expression to work with trauma and mental health matters over the next two years.

Science Film Festival 2024

The Goethe-Institut Myanmar, in collaboration with Myanmar YMCA and other partners, is excited to announce the 13th edition of the Science Film Festival in Myanmar. This year's festival will feature a hybrid format, offering both in-person screenings and online access through a video-on-demand service. The event will take place from November 20 to December 20, 2024.

Exhibitions Schedule

Embarking on their curatorial journey, four teams out of the ‘Expanded Curatorial Practice and Exhibition Making Project’ are now developing diverse art exhibitions to be presented at the four exhibition venues in Yangon. Each team brings its distinct approach and curatorial concept to life; something new will happen soon. 
We welcome everyone to see the curated exhibitions set of the participants from the training program. Please join us throughout November and December. The schedule for each event, along with venue and program details, will be available on our website and social media channels. Please mark your calendar and join us on this artistic journey.

A Talk on Visual History in Myanmar with Archive Images and Stories

Meet the Myanmar Photo Archive

Join us for a talk and presentation on the activities of the Myanmar Photo Archive in the past, present, and future, featuring fascinating images and stories from the archive.
Lukas Birk, the founder of the Myanmar Photo Archive, and Rita Khin, an art consultant, will also present a selection of artwork and writing by grant recipients.

Start learning the German language systematically at the Goethe-Institut Myanmar! Our German language courses are based on the six levels defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Our courses are thereby internationally recognized and comparable. “READING CLUB” Program

Are you looking for a fun way to improve your language skills? Look no further than our reading club! Join us for a great time with friends, where we will explore a variety of easy reader books and expand our vocabulary.

This time, the reading club, which everyone enthusiastically participates in, will meet twice for our readings and is led by an experienced teacher from Goethe-Institut Myanmar. On the first day of the program, we will take turns reading a book, then exchanging our thoughts and opinions on how we understood the stories. We will read and discuss in both Burmese and German. On the second day, we will continue to read and discuss parts from the book we have enjoyed reading during the last two weeks.

This month, we will be playing the board game that everyone enjoys, called "Die Insel der Präpositionen". If you want to learn how to use the prepositions like "vor, hinter, neben, auf, unter, zwischen, über, in", this game is perfect for you.
