In 2025, Germany and Vietnam will celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Germany and Vietnam. The official program for the anniversary year of the German partners and organizations in Vietnam will be carried out under the overall responsibility of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hanoi. The coordination of events has been delegated to the Goethe-Institut Vietnam.

The Goethe-Institut is the global cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany. With many years of experience, the Goethe-Institut qualifies people worldwide linguistically and interculturally and prepares them for living and working in Germany. With its learning and informational offerings and its global network, it provides competent support throughout the entire migration process.

The Goethe-Institut Hanoi is looking for a committed project coordinator (locally employed) as of October 15th (or earlier). This is a temporary position until December 31st, 2025. The scope of employment is 40 hours per week. Remuneration and employment contract correspond to local standards with good additional social benefits from the employer.

What you can expect from this position:

  • You support the institute leadership team in coordinating communications, sponsor support and administration.
  • You are in direct contact with all relevant partners and sponsors and coordinate that the services contractually agreed upon with the partners and sponsors are implemented correctly and on time.
  • You manage the project's main communication channels and implement the communication strategy.
  • You maintain all events as part of the anniversary in an event calendar, coordinate communication on social media and are the contact person for external agencies.
  • You translate documents from Vietnamese to German and English and from German and English to Vietnamese.
  • You prepare documents for payment and coordinate the billing process in close cooperation with the AHK Vietnam.
  • You prepare project contracts and agreements.
  • You support the Goethe-Institut's program department in organizing and implementing all programs and events as part of the anniversary.
  • You take over the archiving of important project documents.
  • You take part in all meetings or exchange formats of the project and are responsible for taking minutes.

Qualifications that set you apart:

  • University degree or equivalent knowledge and skills
  • Proven successful professional experience in the field of marketing and sponsoring
  • Several years of experience with administrative activities in an international organization or company
  • Careful and reliable way of working
  • Strong communication skills and fluent negotiation skills
  • Able to work efficiently even under time pressure and in the face of short-term challenges and tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of German-Vietnamese relations
  • Confident use of Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as common video conferencing platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom)
  • English skills at C1 or better
  • German skills at B2 level or better (preferred)
  • Native Vietnamese language skills
