White Christmas in Germany
Many children's Christmas wish: snow. The Deutscher Wetterdienst calls it a "white Christmas". Find out what this means and how likely a white Christmas is in Germany in our 14th Advent calendar door.
Although many people associate Christmas with snow, snow is not a common Christmas weather phenomenon in Germany - and climate change is making a white Christmas even less likely.
What is a white Christmas?
The Deutscher Wetterdienst defines a "white Christmas" as when at least one centimetre of snow is measured at a weather station on 24, 25 and 26 December.The likelihood of a white Christmas in comparison:
