CYCLE UP! and the CCI Contact Desk hosted an inspiring workshop, "Culture X Sustainability," at the InnoCulture Conference 2024. The session delved into how cultural actors can drive ecological and social sustainability across the Baltic Sea Region while identifying the support systems necessary to sustain cultural organisations.

The workshop kicked off with dynamic brainstorming sessions, where participants explored tools for sustainable practices, tackled common challenges, and shared key insights from previous projects.

We then zeroed in on three pressing challenges in implementing sustainability:

• Breaking Away from Established Practices — No Business as Usual
• Navigating Diverse Cultural Contexts and the Challenge of Replicability
• Building Long-lasting Infrastructure

Participants collaborated in groups, crafting mind maps to uncover innovative solutions and explore how existing regional support structures could bridge these challenges.

By the end of the session, we produced three insightful mind maps packed with strategies for the EUSBSR Policy Area Culture, offering fresh perspectives to shape future actions.
