Climate talks in the classroom
Jonathan Grothaus, a physics and mathematics educator, sees the climate crisis as the most important challenge facing our generation and wants to remind us all of the urgency of taking action. In the spirit of his favorite song lyric by the band Die Ärzte:
"It's not your fault that the world is the way it is. It would only be your fault if it stayed that way".
Jonathan Grothaus wants to get involved in social and political issues, make suggestions and criticize, but without overlooking the complexity of the world.
In his
lecture, he highlights the concrete demands of the Fridays For Future climate movement, compares them with the current state of science, and dispels misconceptions surrounding the climate crisis.
For the preparation and follow-up of the lecture in German classes, materials are available that can also be used independently of the lecture.
