Why CLIL is important
In the last ten years or so, the development of German as a foreign language has intensified considerably, so that it has taken on a significant role in school contexts across regions and countries. Particularly in an educational policy that aims to increase the participation of language learners in (future) social processes, it is not sufficient to teach them only to be able to assert themselves linguistically appropriately in (anticipated) communicative situations. Rather, attention must also be paid to encouraging students to participate profitably in professional and social discussions, research projects and other professional contexts. This is what Content and Language Integrated Learning in German (CLILiG), which is presented in the following short films, does.
