Description

In his research for his photo exhibition, Hamburg-based photographer Jörg Müller follows several German traces around the world. He has succeeded in photographically capturing German life on five continents during his journeys of discovery.

But the images on display also show that the descendants of German emigrants have integrated themselves into their respective places, achieved an economic boom in an originally inhospitable landscape, and are equipped for the future. The exhibition also illustrates that migration, linguistic and cultural plurality are not a new phenomenon and recalls German emigration of the past when emigrants left their German homeland due to wars, famine, economic hardship and religious persecution.

The photo project is intended as a plea for international coexistence and a reflection of migration in the current immigration situation.

There is also exciting material for use in the classroom.
