Born in Munich in 1988, Vera Brückner studied photographic design at the
Munich University of Applied Sciences and documentary film directing and TV journalism at the University of Television and Film Munich. She worked on documentary, journalistic, and fiction projects as a director, producer, and cinematographer. Her work has been selected by festivals including DOK Leipzig, Visions du Réel, CPH:DOX, Cannes Short Film Corner, and the Montreal World Film Festival, and she has received a screenwriting fellowship from the Bavarian Film and Television Fund. Her documentary shorts include Nay York (2019), True Stories*New York (2015), and Mars Closer (2015).
