Director and writer Sophie Linnenbaum was born in Nuremberg in 1986. After earning her psychology degree and working as a playwright, she studied directing at the Konrad Wolf Film University of Babelsberg. Her playfully pointed short films such as [Out of Fra]me and Pix won multiple awards including the German Short Film Award and screened at numerous national and international festivals. The Ordinaries is her graduation film and first fiction feature.
