Tandazani Dhlakama hat einen MA von der University of Leeds, UK, und einen BA von der St. Lawrence University, USA, und verfügt über mehr als 10 Jahre Erfahrung in der Kunstbranche, vor allem in Südafrika und Simbabwe. Tandazani ist derzeit Kuratorin am Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art (Zeitz MOCAA) in Kapstadt, wo sie die Einführung und Entwicklung des Zeitz MOCAA & University of the Western Cape (UWC) Museum Fellowship Programme im Jahr 2021 leitete. Im Zeitz MOCAA war sie Mitkuratorin von When We See Us: A Century of Black Figuration in Painting (2022), Mitkuratorin von Shooting Down Babylon: A Tracey Rose Retrospective (2022), und kuratierte unter anderem Five Bhobh: Painting at the End of an Era (2018). Ihre schriftstellerischen und redaktionellen Beiträge führten zur Formulierung wichtiger Publikationen, die diese Ausstellungen begleiteten. Tandazani hat für anerkannte Organisationen wie die National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Harare, die Tsoko Gallery in Harare, El Espacio 23 in Miami und die 13. Recontres de Bamako - African Biennale of Photography in Bamako gearbeitet, wo sie an mehreren großen Ausstellungen mitwirkte, darunter die Co-Kuration von Maa ka Maaya ka ca a yere kono - On Multiplicity, Difference, Becoming and Heritage (2022), die Kuration von Witness: Afro Perspectives from the Jorge M.
