Nirveda Alleck
Born in Mauritius in 1975, Nirveda Alleck trained at the Michaelis School of Fine Art, South Africa, and did her MFA at Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. She has participated in numerous art residencies in Namibia, South Africa, Lebanon, Mali, France, and USA among others. Her recent residency at the Cite Internationale des Arts was followed by a solo show in Paris, and reshown at the French Institute in Mauritius. She is a recipient of the Visa pour la Creation by the Institut Francais. Alleck lives and works in Mauritius. Alleck was part of the Bamako Biennale of Photography in 2020 and the RIPO Festival in Ouagadougou in 2019. She lives and teaches in Mauritius at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute Fine Art Department.
