Museum Bank Indonesia
The BI Museum occupies the BI Kota building, which was previously used by De Javasche Bank and of great historical value. The government has designated the building a cultural heritage building in accordance with the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province No. 475 of 1993.
Preservation of the BI Kota building is in line with the DKI Jakarta Government’s policy that declares the Kotatua area one of several historical areas in Jakarta. As a pioneer of the revitalization of historical buildings in Kotatua, BI is dedicated to sharing knowledge regarding the role of BI in the nation’s history, including the background of many BI policies.
These reasons underlie the importance of the Bank Indonesia Museum.
