The Gabinete de Modernização das Tecnologias Educativas (GMTE) office belongs to the Direção Regional de Educação da Madeira (DRE), Funchal – Madeira Islands – Portugal.

The DRE has the mission of promoting, developing and implementing the educational policies of the Autonomous Region of Madeira of a pedagogical and didactic scope, relative to pre-school education, basic and secondary education and extra-school education, in an inclusive perspective, contributing to the continuous improvement of the quality of learning and enhancing educational success and the personal, social and professional qualification of the population of Madeira and Porto Santo.

The GMTE office develops, implements and coordinates ICT educational projects in Madeira schools related to 3D printing; virtual and augmented reality; robotics; online school tutoring; development of digital educational resources and games; management and optimization of educational platforms; education for the media and tools for integration of ICT in classrooms to enhance the learning process.
Therefore, the office aims to enhance ICT formal education and develop an updated scientific and technological practice in schools from the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

Through our operational methodologies, which are our projects, we intend to maximize the pedagogical potential of the new interactive and multimedia technologies, integrating them into the
daily educational practices of schools.
