Thank you to everyone who joined us in June 2024 for Studio Quantum’s two-day event exploring the intersection of quantum technologies and the arts.

On Thursday, 27 we were delighted to welcome our esteemed partners and guests to 37 Merrion Square for the Irish premiere of <Dear Quantum> .

This fascinating sound performance was created during  Edy Fung’s Studio Quantum residency in San Francisco and further developed in collaboration with her project partner Muiredach O’Riain.

The night continued with dj sets from BettyJ and Yur’man and drinks in our café space.
We were especially excited to welcome our 2024 artists-in-residence Afra Khan and Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan to the Goethe-Institut.
On Friday, 28 June our programme continued with opening remarks from Professor Dr. John Goold (School of Physics, TCD), who shared fascinating insights into his work.

Afterwards, Berlin-based dancer, choreographer, and artist Hannah Schillinger performed a captivating segment from her work ‘screenplay’, followed by a short conversation with Dr. Felix Binder (Assistant Professor, School of Physics, TCD).

Back in the library, BETA Festival kept the conversation going with a workshop titled ‘Quantum Curious’ and finally, Tina Lorenz, Head of Hertzlab at the renowned ZKM (Centre for Art and Media) in Karlsruhe sat down with Studio Quantum artists-in-residence Afra Khan and Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan for a fascinating conversation about their work and their ambitions for their residencies in Dublin and London.

A heartfelt thank you to all the artists, researchers, scientists and interested audience members who joined us at the Goethe-Institut in Dublin. It was a joy to be able to bring together international perspectives and facilitate multidisciplinary exchange.
