Studio Quantum is a new international artist-in-residence programme and event series from the Goethe-Institut, which explores emerging quantum technologies through the lens of art.

The event took place at 6:30pm on Thursday, 26 October 2023 at 37 Merrion Square.

We introduced the 2023 artists-in-residence who spent the following two months creating new connections between art and quantum technologies as part of an interdisciplinary, international dialogue spanning from Dublin to Lagos and all the way to San Francisco.

We gave a warm welcome to the artists who will be spending the following month in Ireland. Attendees met the artists in the Goethe-Institut and learned more about emerging quantum technologies with our project partners and interested audiences right here in the heart of Dublin.

This was followed by a drinks reception and a light bite to eat.

In the spirit of this interdisciplinary approach between art and technology, the immersive art exhibition DÉAD, celebrated its finissage on the same evening. A guided tour of the exhibition offered insights into the collaborative artworks, created by students and recent graduates from six notable arts colleges in Ireland and Germany. This was the last chance to see this exhibition.

Our Studio Quantum project partners in Ireland include CONNECT – the SFI Research Centre for Future Networks and Communications, the Trinity Quantum Alliance at Trinity College Dublin, Project Arts Centre, and the Douglas Hyde Gallery.
