Septian Dwi Cahyo studied composition with Beat Furrer, and algorithmic composition with Gerhard Nierhaus at Kunstuniversität Graz and IEM Graz. 
 
Cahyo’s pieces have been performed in Europe, Mexico, East Asia, and Southeast Asia. He received the SP24 Grant and EMG ASEA Uninet, and was awarded 2nd prize in the 5th International Microtonal Guitar Composition Competition. His music is published by Babel Scores. 
 
As a speaker, Cahyo has been invited to the IEEE Region 10 Congress, KEAMSAC 2020, Salihara Arts Center, and SEADOM 30 under 30. Recently he was invited as curator for SEAMS #5 (New Voices from Indonesia).
