Paper Flood

الجامعة والعامة

Paper Flood is a 1- minute object animation film that explores the material of paper und transforms it into water. The idea of the film is not to paint and draw on paper, but to use the paper itself as a material and medium to let it speak.  The film questions metaphorically the environmental impact of paper on our water. The world produces 300 million tons of paper every year. But 1 sheet of paper requires up to 20 liters of water for its production. The paper industry uses a huge amount of water – in some nations 10% of all freshwater goes to make paper. Vanessa Cardui is a Berlin based video artist. Her work is characterized by artistic metamorphoses. She transforms everyday objects into pieces of art by exploring the different techniques of animation to bring the objects to life. She works with meaningful color contrasts and creates an imaginative world that arises from the texture of the material.
