This youth campaign was aimed at young people in Hat Yai who were asked to produce documentaries about public spaces through their eyes. Documentaries were used as a medium to address issues of public spaces in Hat Yai, which in turn led to discussion on solutions and policy recommendations for the municipality in the future. An open call for applications went out in May 2022. In total, 41 young people from age 15 to 18 were selected and an online orientation workshop was organized on June 21, 2022. This was followed by a two-day onsite workshop for selected teams. A program on active citizenship and city development was organized by UDDC and mentoring on documentary production was provided by Thai PBS as project partners. The youth documentary contest was held on 28 August 2022. Outdoor screenings and talks with young producers took place, as well as a screening and talk at Lorem Ipsum Café and mini-workshop to discuss and exchange on the development of public spaces in Hat Yai. A screening for the Department of Public Administration and Faculty of Management Science Prince of Songkla University students and workshop on issues and possible solutions to think about how to make public spaces inclusive in Hat Yai was also another event within the framework of the film festival.
