This workshop is conducted by IBM/ Sarah Engel.

An ethical, human-centric AI must be designed and developed in a manner that is aligned with the values and ethical principles of a society or the community. Ethical decision-making isn’t just another form of technical problem solving. It is a socio-technological challenge. As designers and developers of AI systems, we hold a vast share of the collective influence and it is an imperative to understand the ethical considerations of our work. We are creating systems that will impact millions of people. Thus, we need everyone at the table to co-creating a future with AI, worth living in – we need you, psychologist, lawyers, anthropologists, operations engineers, computer scientists, data scientists, business analysts, … and many more. In this workshop we will leverage the different perspectives you bring in and conduct hands-on workshops to learn and experience methods to think about ethics in AI and how to design with ethics in mind. The goal of the session is to experience the facets of AI ethics, learn mechanisms to prevent harmful implications and empower you to apply this methodology in your studies and professional lives.

This workshop is aimed at the participants of the summer school and will not be available online.
