Daily Hiccups

‘Daily Hiccups’, is a series of five short conversations between two characters; Asbah and Shreya, who identify as women (she/her) and work as theatre entrepreneurs, trying to run their own company. The story is about how their concerns which may be gender fluid in and of themselves, yet when addressed in interpersonal communication carry gendered performances, labels and identities, placed on us by society at large. We see how freedom plays out for these women and what is at stake for them to pursue their choice of profession.

Chapter 1

Starting their theatre company, Asbah and Shreya set-up their office as they find their voice.

Chapter 2

Losing faith and feeling the implications of their choices, what happens when Asbah and Shreya push themselves to work after being awake for 36 hours?

Chapter 3

Is it easy to work with everybody? How is it any different for these two?

Chapter 4

Towards the last few days of their production being staged, Asbah and Shreya pull off balancing acts.

How far do Shreya and Asbah go to let their voice dictate their choices and decisions?
