Virtual Tour of Germany

This time we travel to the southwestern part of Germany. Rhineland-Palatinate forms the borders with France, Luxembourg, and Belgium in the west. The largest city and at the same time the capital of this federal state is Mainz. The four nearest largest cities, Ludwigshafen, Koblenz, Trier and Kaiserslautern, together with Mainz, form the five major centres of the state.

Rhineland-Palatinate, with its more than 2000 years of prehistory, is rich in cultural treasures. Numerous cities in the country date back to a Roman foundation. In Rhineland-Palatinate, therefore, you will find numerous ground monuments, churches and secular buildings, such as castles, palaces and fortresses. The Middle Rhine Valley in particular has been a tourist attraction for hundreds of years.

In the field of education, Rhineland-Palatinate, with its numerous universities and high-quality schools, is very high up in the German ranking.

The largest economic sector is wine and sparkling wine and their export. Other major sectors of the economy are the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The automotive industry, the energy industry, agriculture, and forestry are strongly represented.

All in all, Rhineland-Palatinate has a lot to offer and is therefore a very attractive state not only in terms of landscape, but also economically.

Travel with us! We are looking forward to your participation.
