The eponymous catalog accompanying the exhibition TECHNO WORLDS delves into the exhibition's themes with texts by DeForrest Brown, Jr, Kerstin Greiner, Mandy Harris Williams, Jörg Heiser, Rangoato Hlasane, Steph Kretowicz, Martin Pesch, Rosa Reitsamer, and Camilo Rocha, as well as an interview by Annie Goh with Alexander Weheliye. The texts explore the complex embedding of techno in historical contexts – from Afrofuturism in post-industrial Detroit to techno's connection to nation-building processes in reunified Germany to queer spatial politics in today’s Sao Paulo. They point to discrimination at club doors, on dance floors, in booking list and line-ups, and raise the question of cultural appropriation and rave reparations as well as techno's relationship to capitalism.

The catalogue was published by Hatje Cantz and is now available for purchase through the Goethe-Institut.
