A project by Christoph Frick and KLARA-Theaterproduktionen
Based on the biographies by Jorge Antonio Arias Cortez and Nicola Benjamin Fritzen
The Canal Isuto: There is hardly any water left. Plastic garbage drifts in a residual black broth under the bridge. On the left bank lies the favela Los Sauces; simple dwellings built without a
permit. On the right, green side, a 5-star hotel with the European name "Swissotel"; 25 floors, 130 beds. A nature reserve begins right behind the hotel.
In «Dos Vidas. Zwei Leben / version calle» this bridge in the urban space of Santa Cruz de la Sierra in Bolivia becomes a stage. The audience will travel to the bridge in 50 motorized cabs, where it will mingle with the inhabitants of Los Sauces. Standing on the bridge the two actors, Jorge Arias Cortez and Nicola Benjamin Fritzen, will examine their biographies: Has one of them drawn the better lot in the lottery of birth? Struggling for an answer, they let the two worlds collide, which are only 50 meters apart.
