Female Affairs

Female Affairs is an international music development project proposed by Meta Arts in Calcutta, India and PART Ensemble in Germany. Four women music composers from India and Germany will collaborate to develop new compositions in contemporary music to be performed as a concert tour for audiences in both countries. The primary purpose of this project is to address the glaring gap of young women composers of excellence unable to work on intercultural projects reflecting shared narratives between the global south and the north at an eye level. Through the project we will seek to answer: What is structurally the same in both countries, what is different? How can we help each other? In this way, beyond the composition work and the concerts, a platform is created that can be expanded to a larger circle, which provides the basis for further exchange and continued cooperation between women across national borders and continents.
