Nam Young Baek (South Korea), LUNATIKS (Deutschland) und Theaterdiscounter Berlin (Deutschland)
The Berlin Wall is gone. North and South Korea have been divided for 70 years. People draw borders, people cross them. Communication bans and threats of escalation alternate with thawing periods. For South Korea the “Wende” (fall of the Berlin Wall) in Germany is a success story – looking from Pyongyang to Berlin, the success of unification might be assessed a little differently. South Korea frequently invites German delegations to visit, because it all worked out here around 30 years ago. Did it? Reunification as an export hit? Based on a German-Korean family story at the centre of the conflict, research experts LUNATIKS will stage stories that centre on unification fantasies and experiences of division, for which the DELEGATION X moves between karaoke-bar debate and negotiation-table choreography.
