Pablo De Rokha was a pioneer of avant-garde Latin American literature. Since the inception of his work in 1922 with Los Gemidos, a poetic style in constant evolution is perceived, characterized by a language of overflowing images with the union of the most beautiful with the terrible. Four new compositions by Lutz (Germany), Ana María Rodriguez (Argentina), González (Chile) and Canedo (Germany / Chile) will explore various texts and conceptual perspectives of his work, transcending the traditional poetry musicalization, through rhetorical-conceptual analogies that exploited not only his genius as a poet, but also his intransigent intellectual position against a society consumed by capitalism, which developed a unique and extreme artistic vision. An ensemble of German and Chilean musicians unfolds surreal sound images between composition and improvisation, in which traditional Chilean instruments meet computer-musical procedures. The project will be presented with 2 events in Chile and 2 in Germany, exploring a new conceptual approach of the concert that escape the traditional established norms, as a complement of De Rokha’s conception of art propagation. This project is part of round 5 of the International Coproduction Fund, year 2018.
