Bangkok International Children's Theatre Festival – BICT Fest (Thailand), Alfredo Zinola Production (Germany)
With this project we aim to create the (probably) very first site-specific performance in schools in Thailand, as an equal collaboration between the Thai Theatre director Pattarasuda Anuman Rajadhon and the German choreographer Alfredo Zinola. Goal of this project is to provide an aesthetic experience that can shift the perception children have of their daily space. A school is a highly codified environment, where everybody knows what to expect and how to behave, in each possible situation. The way children perceive their surrounding and themselves in it, influences how they develop their personality. The goal of this project is to bring together the two ways that two different artists might have of perceiving the space and to create an immersive performance that challenges the environment of a class-room. We would like to transform it into an extraordinary space, to propose a shift on the way we see things in our daily life, and maybe also the way children see themselves and their daily surroundings. This project is part of round 8 of the International Coproduction Fund, year 2019-2020.
