A "tiny house" is like a real house, only tiny. Its occupant can't afford the apartment of her dreams right now. Especially not since renovations are underway. But it's also very practical to have everything so close together, and the trend is towards "less is more" anyway. Besides, she's almost always at one of her odd jobs. The money has to come from somewhere. She actually wants to be an actress, but somehow no one at the bakery or call center wants to hear her self-written monologue, in which she acts out all her feelings at once.

A building contractor who has toiled all his life and is now confronted with protesters who don't want to understand that he actually does social projects also feels unheard. He has already sponsored a soccer field for socially disadvantaged young people, and otherwise the Americans will soon be coming. So redevelop! Rehabilitate before it rehabilitates you. Meanwhile, a biotechnologist sits in her office and doesn't really know what her job is. But it's too late to ask anyone by now. So she spends the time between nine and sixteen o'clock looking as busy as possible. She is obviously not needed. In the evening she comes home and is glad to be alone. Then her mother falls ill.

With affectionate ridicule, Annika Henrich looks at her characters as they struggle to find their place in life, a place where they can belong and stay, trapped in a system that keeps on turning, facing an uncertain future. In the process, she incidentally focuses on some of the most pressing political issues of our time, from housing shortages to precarious employment to climate change.
