The Goethe-Institut offers educational programmes worldwide for the further training of cultural professionals. Since 2009, we have been supporting, funding and networking actors in the fields of cultural management, cultural entrepreneurship as well as cultural and digital education. The courses, workshops and study programmes mostly take place online. The spectrum is continuously being expanded to include new event formats. We also provide open digital learning and teaching materials.
Our educational programmes are tailored to the specific local environment and the potentials of the participants. They are developed in cooperation with local partners, experts and institutions. Through our network of 159 Goethe-Instituts worldwide, we have special knowledge of the respective cultural and educational scenes as well as a high level of intercultural competence.
We offer platforms and meeting spaces for cultural professionals, cultural managers, academics and media professionals, advise cultural institutions and organisations and thus enable the development of new long-term relationships in the digital, local and international fields.
The programmes combine the theory and practice of cultural work. They are based on the principle of mutual learning and create opportunities for professional and personal development. Training is understood as a process and exchange to which participants contribute equally as experts in their respective fields. The different perspectives that come together in this knowledge transfer enrich each other and open up new perspectives based on universal values.
Our focus is on promoting innovative developments, discussing current topics such as digitalisation, diversity and sustainability and on strengthening civil society.
Together with our partners, we are also active in the field of international cultural and investment promotion. Our funding programmes include the International Coproduction Fund, the Franco-German Cultural Fund, the residence programs, the Prince Claus Fund and the International Relief Fund.
