Skilled Workers for Germany – A Conference on New Labour Migration
More and more young, well-educated people from Spain and Greece are seeking greener pastures in Germany. What does it mean for their home countries? Is it an opportunity because it takes the pressure off the labour markets there? Or is it another burden because skilled workers are leaving the country? What consequences does this new kind of migration have for Germany and the concerns there about a shortage of skilled workers? Experts from Spain, Greece, Bulgaria and Germany will explore these questions at the conference Language. Mobility. Germany. in Berlin on 6 and 7 November.
The conference will also look at how the young emigrants prepare themselves for the German labour market, what expectations they have and the role German language skills play in their transition. And how can German companies establish an appropriate “welcome culture”?
The conference Language. Mobility. Germany. will begin on Thursday, 6 November, at 6 pm in the Palais der Kulturbrauerei. It is being organized by the Goethe-Institut and the Federal Agency for Civic Education. You can find more information here.
