2020
European Day of Languages

Celebrate the European Day of Languages (ETS) with us!

Across Europe, 800 million citizens, represented by the 47 Member States in the Council of Europe, are encouraged to learn more languages at all ages, in and outside school. The Council of Europe promotes multilingualism throughout Europe in the belief that linguistic diversity can contribute to a better understanding between cultures and is one of the central components of our continent's cultural heritage.

At the initiative of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, the European Day of Languages has been celebrated every year since 2001 on 26 September - together with the European Commission.
