PASCH Schools

The partner schools

There are currently two PASCH-schools in Oman: one for boys and the other for girls. Both schools are located within the metropolitan area of the capital city, Muscat, in the northern part of the country.
 

Al Imam Barakat Bin Mohammed

This boys’ school is located in the coastal town of Barka in Wilayat Al Batinah which is one hour away from Muscat. The school was established in 1980 with 31 classes and 1054 pupils in the age group between 16 and 18 years old. The main focus of this public high school is natural sciences and sport. Besides gymnasium, library, laboratory and computer lab, the school has also its own German room with numerous teaching materials.
The school of Barkat Bin Mohammed is very popular in Oman. Its pupils and graduates have participated in many interscholastic activities and science projects and won many of them. There are three teachers who currently teach German language at Barakat Bin Mohamed School. They are also involved in a comprehensive PASCH-program. In addition to ongoing language training, their job includes also preparation of detailed lesson plans and the most modern didactic measures. The teachers can also attend further training courses in Germany again and again.

The Hail Al Awamer girls' school is located in Seeb, Wilayat Muscat, north of the airport in a very economically dynamic region of the country.
The school was founded in 1991 and has three grades. It is currently attended by 1,361 students between the ages of 15 and 17. 73 teachers teach at this general secondary school, which focuses on languages, sports and natural sciences. The school's facilities include three laboratories, a language laboratory, an extensive library, computer room and gymnasium. In addition to German lessons, two experienced and committed German teachers also supervise several PASCH projects. The school has been a PASCH school since 2013, and there were collaborations with the Elsa Brandström School in Hanover, with which the art project “The Other Me” was realized. Other projects included the Tamam project (environmental protection & energy saving), the Pasha project and a robot project. The school regularly takes part in summer language camps. Several students from the Hail AL Awamer School have already been successfully nominated for scholarship places in Germany. In 2018, a “Girls Day” was held in Oman for the first time, where students from the Hail Al Awamer School were able to visit selected companies with a connection to Germany.
