Project coordinator (m/f/d) for the EU-funded (Erasmus+) project LIBRA.I.

The Goethe Institut in Brussels is recruiting from 01.11.2024 a project coordinator (male/female/diverse) for the EU-funded (Erasmus+) project LIBRA.I.
  • Full time position: (38 hours per week)
  • 24 months project

The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global presence. We facilitate international cultural exchange, promote access to the German language and support the unimpeded development of culture and science.
LIBRA.I. (Library-Based Artificial Intelligence for Media Literacy) is a project, the Goethe-Institut is implementing in cooperation with the Muntpunt Library in Brussels, the Public Library Lodz, Poland, the National Library of Latvia in Riga and FARI - AI for the Common Good, Brussels.
Being accessible to all citizens across Europe, Public Libraries have the potential to play a vital role in promoting media and information literacy (MIL) and digital competences among European societies.
LIBRA.I. wants to raise awareness among the communities of 3 participating Public Libraries about their role as MIL-hubs, by involving new developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the training programs for MIL&AI.
 

The remit of the position will include the following main activities:

  • Project planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation
  • Overall coordination and facilitation of communication within the consortium.
  • Monitoring and documentation of project development
  • Monitoring and documentation of project results
  • On-going communication with the Erasmus+ office (in Germany)
  • Overseeing the implementation of the Communication and Dissemination Plan
  • Coordinating the logistical aspects of this project, including financial control

Our requirements:

  • University degree (or equivalent) and relevant professional experience
  • Experience and/or proven interest in the field of AI and/or libraries
  • Knowledge of EU-funded projects especially Erasmus+
  • Project management skills and economic outlook
  • Enthusiasm for working with external partners.
  • Editorial skills and enthusiasm for writing texts and reports
  • Ability to work in a team, flexibility, ability to work independently on own initiative
  • Excellent knowledge of English; German and other foreign languages are an advantage
  • Experience in standard budget planning tools (Excel) and willingness to learn and use the internal planning tools of the Goethe-Institut

Useful additional skills:
  • Experience in communicating with EU institutions

The Goethe-Institut Brussels offers a starting salary of 3.690 € to 4.107 € for the advertised position.
