(Vergiss mein ich)
By Jan Schomburg, 2014, Germany, 93 min. With: Maria Schrader, Johannes Krisch, Ronald Zehrfeld.
In German with English subtitles.

“Schomburg has directed a tour de force by maintaining a melancholic balance between the theatrical and tragic aspects of Lena’s amnesia.” – Die Welt

Lena Ferben, an accomplished academic, has lived almost half a lifetime when she loses all of her memories, the entire "I" of her self. Her husband Tore is suddenly a stranger, her friends are unknown to her, her whole life is a fictional narrative. She must decide whether to become who she was or to remain someone else...She is free to do whatever she pleases.  So when Lena meets handsome writer Roman events start spinning out of control. A clever and gripping drama asking intriguing questions about identity, freedom and choice. Who are we really? How much of our lives is a performance staged for the comfort - or discomfort - of others?
