Claudia Mosquera

Professor in the Social Work Department at the National University of Colombia, Bogotá, and researcher at the Social Studies Center (CES). She majored in Social Work and was a consultant for the Pan-American Development Foundation (FUPAD) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). She was an adviser to the Colombian Reparation and Reconciliation Commission (CNRRR) on behalf of UN Women. From 1998 to 2001, she was a coordinator and founding member of the Initiatives for Peace and Coexistence (PIUP). Mosquera currently runs the research group for Racial Equality, Cultural Difference, Environmental Conflicts, and Racism in the Black Americas (IDCARAN). She was an active member of the International Scientific Committee for the Slave Route at Unesco (2014-2016). She is currently researching ethnic self-determination processes in the Colombian Caribbean region.
