Queer Prague: Staré Město

Are you interested in what life was like for gays and lesbians in Prague in both the recent and the distant past? On the history-focused walks with the historians Dr. Ladislav Jackson und Jan Krcal you will be immersed in the queer atmosphere of the interwar period, the Nazi occupation, the Communist regime and the “wild“ 1990s.

The guided tour will be lead by an art historian dr. Ladislav Jackson, Ph.D., and executive director of the Society for Queer Memory.

Society for Queer Memory is a Czech non-profit organization that collects, presents and interprets the past of queer, non-normative and LGBTIQ+ people. The collections are devided into three parts: museum, archive and a specialized library with multiple rare prints and journals. The Society for Queer Memory organizes lectures, exhibitions, collaborates with many organizations on promoting equality and popularize queer history. 

We will walk 5km by foot. The entrance is free, Pre-registration is required.
