We are offering you the chance to spend two to three weeks here in Germany completing one of our outstanding intensive language courses. You have the choice of whether to improve your German skills in the trendy German capital of Berlin, the charming, medium-sized cities of Bonn, Dresden or Freiburg, or in more laid-back surroundings in Schwäbisch Hall. We can assist you with finding suitable accommodation if necessary, whether with a host family, at a hotel or in a guesthouse.

And whichever location you choose, we will help you to feel at ease and learn German successfully.

By taking part in our extensive cultural and leisure programme, you can put your German skills straight to real-world use while discovering the rich variety of experiences on offer in Germany.

Depending on your preferences and location, you can choose different types of accommodation.

We have the right accommodation for you. Whether you opt to stay in a guesthouse, at partner hotels or with a host family, the Goethe-Institut will ensure you soon feel right at home – there is something for everyone.

Our German courses for your language-learning trip

  • Course duration: 2 weeks (10 course days) or 3 weeks (15 course days)
  • Timetable: 50 or 75 lessons in total (each lasting 45 minutes)
  • Procedure: Monday to Friday, 5 lessons a day on-site at your Goethe-Institut
  • Maximum number of participants: 16
  • Levels from beginner to advanced: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2
    (in each case, you will be completing a sub-level that forms part of a full level, e.g. B1.2).
  • Free placement test before the start of the course
  • All teaching materials are included
  • Individual learning in the media library
  • Comprehensive culture and leisure programme
  • Certificate of attendance included
  • Option of examinations (20% discount on Goethe-Zertifikat)

Locations for your language-learning trip to Germany

Travel to Berlin and learn German in-country.

Berlin

The Goethe-Institut is located in the Mitte district, a central area that is one of the coolest in the former East Berlin. This makes the perfect base for discovering the huge and varied array of different parts of the extraordinary capital city.
 

Travel to Bonn and learn German in-country.

Bonn

The Goethe-Institut Bonn is centrally located on the university campus. The culture-filled former German capital is one of Germany’s oldest cities and is still home to a number of federal ministries.

The Frauenkirche in Dresden is one of the city's many landmarks.

Dresden

The Goethe-Institut Dresden is located in a young and lively part of town, with the River Elbe and the baroque city centre within walking distance. Dresden has an abundant range of sights to see, including the Semperoper opera house, the Zwinger palace, the Frauenkirche church and a whole host of other worthwhile destinations.

Düsseldorf

The Goethe-Institut Düsseldorf is located in a modern neighbourhood in the heart of the fashion metropolis. The famous Königsallee is just a short walk away and the many sights, such as the Rhine Tower and the Media Harbour, can be easily explored from here.

Frankfurt

The Goethe-Institut in Frankfurt is centrally located in a lively neighbourhood known for its cultural diversity. The metropolis on the Main offers many cultural and historical sights, such as the Römer, the Alte Oper and the Museumsufer.

Travel to reiburg and learn German in-country.

Freiburg

Our institute in Freiburg, Germany’s greenest city, is located inside a park not far from the historic city centre. Although the city is on the smaller side, Freiburg still enjoys a lively atmosphere thanks to the large number of students living in town.

Göttingen

The Goethe-Institut in Göttingen is centrally located, not far from the renowned university for which the city is known. Numerous historic half-timbered houses shape the cityscape and offer an insight into Göttingen's rich history.

Hamburg

The Goethe-Institut Hamburg is located in one of the most diverse and lively districts of the Hanseatic city. The Elbphilharmonie concert hall and the historic Speicherstadt warehouse district are just a short walk away.

Travel to Mannheim and learn German in-country.

Mannheim

The Goethe-Institut Mannheim is located on the modern educational campus in the Lindenhof district, allowing visitors to get a feel for university life in the city. On the opposite side of the Rhine is Mannheim’s sister city of Ludwigshafen, giving you the chance to explore both cities in one trip!

Munich

The Goethe-Institut in Munich is centrally located in a culturally rich part of the city. From here, Marienplatz and the famous Frauenkirche are within easy walking distance. The nearby Alps offer a breathtaking backdrop and are a popular destination for hikers and winter sports enthusiasts.

Travel to Schwäbisch Hall and learn German in-country.

Schwäbisch Hall

Our institute in Schwäbisch Hall is located right in the centre of the small, picturesque city. This makes a useful staging post for diving back into the city’s history through to the Middle Ages. Schwäbisch Hall has a rich history and a plethora of traditional events to enjoy.
