You heard right: the Goethe-Institut Mannheim is so close to Ludwigshafen that you can get to your German course without a car or train ticket: on foot or by bike. The centre of Ludwigshafen is about 5 km from the Goethe-Institut Mannheim. Take a long walk (approx. 50 minutes) or ride your bike across the Rhine (approx. 17 minutes).
BY TRAIN:
Take the S2, S3, S4 or S6 to Mannheim. Then you have two options:
- Walk approx. 6 minutes to the "Tattersall" stop and take tram line 1 towards Rheinau Bahnhof (approx. every 10 minutes) to the "Hochschule" stop.
- In about 6 minutes you can walk to the stop "Kunsthalle". Take bus 63 in the direction of Pfalzplatz to the "Hochschule" stop.
Or take tram line 6 or 6A from Ludwigshafen in the direction of Neuostheim or SAP Arena S-Bahnhof (e.g. from Wittelsbachplatz). Here you also have two options:
- Get off at the "Weberplatz" stop and walk for about 15 minutes along Möhl-Straße to the Goethe-Institut at Oskar-Meixner-Straße 6.
- Get off at "Paradeplatz" in Mannheim and change there to tram line 1 in the direction of "Rheinau Bahnhof" (approx. every 10 minutes). Get off at the "Hochschule" stop.
From the "Hochschule" stop it is only 250 metres to the Goethe-Institut at Oskar-Meixner-Straße 6.
BY CAR:
From Ludwigshafen, take the B37 until the exit onto Helmut-Kohl-Straße/B36 in the direction of Schwetzingen/Heidelberg. Alternatively, stay on the B37 until the Schwetzinger Str. exit. Take Neckarauer Straße and Sigrid-Hackbarth-Straße to reach the Goethe-Institut at Oskar-Meixner-Straße 6.
