WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO ME
Breaking the stigma for women with Rokitansky-Kyustner syndromeBy chance, I came across the story of a foreign woman who had a rare disease called Rokitansky Kyustner syndrome about her birth.
She told me about the social challenges caused by her missing uterus and incomplete vagina. It was the first time I heard about this rare syndrome. Inspired to do more research on this syndrome, I could not find any Arabic press reports on this topic. So I decided to write about this disease myself and search for Arab women with this syndrome. It was a challenge to reach affected women as the scale is 1:5.000. The few women I could reach were only willing to talk to me about it after some initial hesitation. I would like to show that these women without uterus are adorable, inspiring and strong.
