On behalf of the German Federal Government, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Egypt, in partnership with the Goethe-Institut Egypt, offers the Up4Jobs programme. This programme prepares you linguistically, professionally, and culturally for working with a German account companies in Egypt.

General Information about Up4Jobs Programme

In recent years, German companies have increasingly discovered the Egyptian market for themselves. This has led to the creation of numerous jobs and career opportunities. In order to take advantage of these opportunities; however, a good knowledge of German and appropriate professional qualifications are often necessary.

To promote training in this area among potential employees, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) has launched a special scholarship for university graduates and job seekers who are interested in a professional future with German-Accounts companies in Egypt.

The Up4Jobs programme offers scholarships to promote the German language and soft skills training to increase the employment opportunities of project participants in regional or multinational companies in Egypt. In addition, there will be two employment fairs per year for the Up4Jobs programme students, which will facilitate the employment of Up4Jobs students in the regional or multinational companies of Egypt.

 

To work in a German company in Egypt, the following points should be considered:

1- Required language levels B2/C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

2- Completion of intercultural and soft skills trainings

  • The completion of the language courses is on site at the Goethe-Institut in Cairo and Alexandria or online. (The duration of each level is 10-17 weeks depending on the language level and the scholarship will continue for further consecutive courses provided that the current language level is passed with at least grade good.) The times of the courses are mornings or evenings , 2-3 times weekly.
  • The Up4Jobs programme, funded by the BMZ, offers scholarships amounting to 90% of the total cost of German courses, as well as participation in vocational and cultural training, language cafes, and job fairs.

Please note that applicants must take a German placement test.

Prerequisites & Conditions

  1. The scholarships are aimed exclusively at Egyptian citizens.
  2. Only graduates from the faculties of Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Information Technology, Computer science, Alsun, German studies Language and Translations,  Arts, Commerce, Economics and Political science and ITI certificate holders.
    Graduates of Medicine, Pharmacy, Tourism, Archeology and Education are not accepted in the program.
  3. Job seekers with the desire to work in a multinational or regional company in Egypt.
  4. You must have an A2, B1 or B2 German level (certificate from the Goethe- Institut or another certified language course provider).
  5. Applicants who are 30 years of age or younger.
  6. For male applicants: Please provide a certificate for an exemption, postponement or completion of the military service.
During the selection of candidates, we will carry out a further placement test, in order to determine exactly your German language skills. The classes are formed depending on the scores of the placement test and interview.

  1. Phase 8 Course levels: B1:C1
  2. Placement Test: Before the start of the language course there is a placement test for all participants.
  3. Courses details:
  • The language of instruction is German
  • Scientifically oriented courses which simulates the daily life in Germany
  • Exchange of information within the Group
  • The German courses are offered at Goethe-Institut in Cairo or Alexandria offline or online
  • A course consists of 100 learning units
  • The duration of each learning unit is 45 Minutes

Exams after each level are cancelled and the passing of a level depends on the class work and the class teacher’s grade.
