On the occasion of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, the German Embassy in Helsinki and the Goethe-Institut Finnland cordially invite you to the the screening of “Nico” (Eline Gehring, 2021). 

Nico

German-Iranian Nico (Sara Fazilat) is a sensitive woman who works as a nurse in a retirement home in Berlin. After getting racially harassed and abused on her way home from a rave, her carefree life falls apart. She makes the decision to never be a victim of violence again and starts to attend karate school. The film shows Nico's developmental steps, which range between re-traumatisation, alienation and self-discovery.
