CROWD - international dance exchange is a collaborative network of dance organisations, which seeks to support dance artists who engage with communities as part of their practice.
Through hosting residencies and opening up space for discussion and knowledge development, the programme aims to support artists with an established practice in community engaged dance making to build their professional network, share experience with others in the field and develop their practice.
Since its initiation in 2021 the network has grown to include more partners and artists. Thus far, we have invited 26 artists to participate in our programme of residencies across Finland, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway and the UK.
The basis of CROWD are the residencies, working in pairs and including two weeks at home and two weeks abroad, alongside a programme of digital discourse facilitated by the Goethe-Institut and our partners. Further information about the exchange can be found at www.crowd.dance.
Artists with a demonstrable practice in community engagement are encouraged to apply in future rounds. The CROWD network is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community and we encourage applications from those from under-represented backgrounds. We have bursaries and support in place to accommodate applicants with additional access needs or caring responsibilities.
