How do I know which level I should enrol for?

If you have never studied German before, start at level A1.1. You can book a class online or get in touch with the language office. If you have previous knowledge of German but are unsure which level is right for you, we welcome you to take our placement test. Take the written part of the placement test online. For a brief oral assessment, one of our teachers will give you a call. Book your placement test

Do I need to purchase any textbooks?

For our face to face courses and children's courses , we ask you to purchase the textbook separately. For our blended learning courses, online German courses and specialised courses , we provide you with the necessary materials free of charge.

Can I change or cancel my course booking?

In case of cancellation, the following fees apply: a) Up to 4 weeks before beginning of course 10% of course fee, b) Up to 1 week before beginning of course 20% of course fee, c) Up to 1 day before beginning of course 30% of course fee, d) After course begins 100% of course fee. You should consider your personal commitments and circumstances before enrolment, as we regret that no fees are refundable once the course has started. We reserve the right to cancel classes with fewer than 10 students up to 24 hours before a course is due to start. In this case we will give you a full refund of the course fee paid. No other costs except the course fee will be refunded.

Will I get a certificate at the end of my class?

All students who attend at least 70% of their classes, and (for courses with an online component) complete at least 70% of their assignments will receive a certificate of participation for their course. Also, we prepare and encourage you to sign up for one of our official Goethe-Zertifikat exams, which will provide you with an internationally-recognised certificate to prove your language abilities.
